seijuuban ch 1 part 1

T___T I’m so sorry… but I don’t think I have the motivation to continue this one…

I, uh, a, I don’t have any excuses ;w; it just, doesn’t click with me I guess…

I’ll try to cover up to the contents of Chapter 1 of the manga and let anyone interested in taking this up take over. D:

Once again, my apologies D:

Chapter 1 The shut in noble lady, becoming a mythical beast caretaker

Below the slightly misty blue spring day, where sunlight shone down the steeples, lies the castle of the Wordsworth kingddom where one could see a peaceful view of the entire town. The town is built on top of the gentle slope. The closer one’s lodging is to the castle depicts the higher one’s social status is. Some distance away from the castle, stands a somewhat magnificent mansion belonging to the house of Count Nort. Similar like the other mansions embraced by the warm sunlight by the slope, today looks like another peaceful day indeed. But it was not so within the masterbedroom of the mansion of the Norts.

“Ugh.. guh… Motheeerrr, please don’t dieeeeeee…”

The person lying on the bed on her sides was none other than Count Nort’s wife. And the one by the side of the bed was their daughter, Myuriel.

“Myuriel, please just calm down for now. It’s not as if something will happen to her right now.”

“Aneue* (formal way of calling older sister), you’re crying too much”

Beside Count Nort who was mediating is Ryucael, Myuriel’s brother younger by a year, who had a slightly disgusted look on his face. This four-way deadlock happened a few minutes ago. The birds nonchalantly chirps cheerfully, but none of them could lend an ear to the birds.

“Myruiel, I’m fine, alright? Crying so much would ruin your pwetty cute green eyes”

Madam Nort who looked pale held out her hand and placed it on top of Myuriel’s soft chestnut colored hair. She then gently patted the head of her daughter who has the same iris color as her.

“…..Uuuu, mother… d-don’t dieeeeeeeee!!”

But her action only aggravated the conditions and didn’t have any effectiveness in reducing her daughter’s tears.

Ryucael was looking at Myuriel with a loathful face. Although they are siblings who looks just like twins, their personalities are complete opposites.

“Didn’t they say she’s fine for now? Seriously, Aneue never listens to what people says.”

Opposite from Myuriel who is a dreamer and prone to crying, Ryucael is frank and a realist. While both have baby faces, cute and large eyes as well as small nose and mouth which are very similar with each other, both are making expression unfitting of themselves.

“Aa, that’s enough. It can’t be helped anymore, why don’t you come here for a while” Count Nort who looked troubled and agitated then dragged Myuriel whose face was full of snort while sitting by the side of the bed with both his arms, as if holding up a small child and dragged her out of the room in that position adeptly. They moved out of the room.

“Don’t come back in anymore. Since I’ll be the one looking after mother”

Beyond the door which was closing was the little brother who dragged a chair to the side of the bed and sat down while swaying his hand as if chasing away trouble.

“-!? N- noooo! I don’t want to! Father, please unhand me! I too want to stay beside mother!”

The daughter who started rampaging after hearing the door closing, the Count coiled his hand around his daughter’s abdomen to firmly grasp her.

“It’s alright. She’ll be fine. Anyways, just come over here for a while. I have something to talk to you about…”

Hearing the hesitant words coming out of the lenient father who always take his daughter’s opinion in account on every occasion made Myuriel’s flow of tears slow down. Seeing how Myuriel stopped trying to rampage into the room, the Count released his grip from her waist.

Then he brought her in to his office. Without taking a seat, the count faced around to Myuriel and took her hand, and started the conversation with a serious tone.

“It’s about your mother, and the doctor said that she can’t force her body anymore it seems”

“can’t force her body……”

Thinking about her mother who had never caught a single cold, Myuriel was astounded from the words and repeated them in a daze.

“Thus, she is to be periodically checked from now on. And thinking how it’s futile to hide the truth, it seems her life may be in danger after a few months”

Myuriel who thinks about how life will stay the same yesterday, today and tomorrow was struck by a big pile of boulder to her head. The words was too much for her to bear, and she felt the sensations of her body leaving her. The hands her father placed on both her shoulder felt unpleasantly hot.

“While she’s important to you as a mother, she is as much important to me as my wife as well… I hope to support her with all I can… But…”

The Count who looked straight into her eyes while talking to her all this while now has hesitation in his eyes. He then avoided his gaze.

“Fa-father?”

Myuriel who felt even unease at the sight of her father, tried to pursue further. Resolved after his daughter’s voice, the Count fixated his gaze on her and tightly grasped on her hands.

“There’s a need for someone to precede”

someone to precede… meaning… money.

After a moment of staring at each other, the Count’s mustache twitched a bit.

“Allright! I understand! Please sell away my dresses and accessories!

“That- that would be slightly… unrealible…”

To begin with, Myuriel who shuts herself in does not engage in frequenting tea parties and night balls, and she comparably have surprisingly fewer dresses and accessories than girls of her age who loves to stock up on them. The said person herself is the most aware of such, and her father who was stuck in his words after running his words around started nodding without holding any doubts.

“I-i see… Then, I will relinquish my beloved books. No matter how important those books are, they cannot replace my most beloved and important mother!”

Just because Myuriel does not spend on dresses and accessories does not mean that she is a thrift. In fact, the books she possess costs either equally to those, and may be even more costly. And those books are called ‘stories’ to her. She is a fanatic light novel reader.

“What did you say!? You? Relinquish your books which are more important than your three meals a day?! *cough cough cough* what?”

As she gently pats on her father’s back, Myuriel nodded her head affirmatively as if that is something unquestionable.

“*cough cough* Sorry. B-but that would seem unreliable on a long-term basis, would it?”

Reading, the only hobby Myuriel indulges in above anything else. The collection of books within the Count’s library seem to be more than what they could normally afford. If the sheer amount is still not enough, then what would suffice?

“Then what should I do? Father, would you kindly share your wisdom?”

Myuriel’s eyebrows frowned with worry, unknown to her that the Count’s made a smirk while sharing his opinion.

“Umu, open up your heart and heed my words. How about… taking up a job within the castle?”

“……, ……, h-huh!? M-me? Taking up a job-!?” After a few seconds on silence while processing her father’s unexpected opinion, Myuriel screamed.

“Impossible! Definitely impossible!”

  1. Thanks for the update Shiro! Shame you’re dropping this, since I made a spoiler thread, apparently, this series is only currently 2 volumes (and a 3rd one on the way). But since you already gave your permission, I also made a pickup request on NU.
